PEN PORTRAIT JENETTE CHARLES
I was elected as a parent governor in November 2017. I put myself forward for this role as I wanted to give back to the school that was providing my children with a high level of education and care. It has given me an amazing insight as to all the work that goes on behind the scenes in running a well-established school. During my time in my role as parent governor I have been able to visit the school during the day to look through children’s work, their class displays and speak to the children regarding their learning at Holy Trinity. This role also comes with a high level of responsibility as you are a part of making vital decisions about the daily running of the school, how funds are spent/raised and how best to achieve the school’s goals.
I see my role as looking at all aspect from a ‘Parents point of view’. Not just as the mother of my two children who attend the school but as a parent in general. I feel that this adds another great dynamic to the meetings and allows us to come to decisions with a well grounded, diverse and varied views.
My back ground is in Business support in the field of Children services for a local authority. I am currently the Deputy Business Support Manager for the Youth offending service and this is also another role that I take very seriously.
